Summary
The Minnesota Timberwolves pulled off a savvy trade, sending Josh Green to the Jazz while signing Jonathan Kuminga — a move that pushed them right up against the salary cap. To clear space, they brought in Cody Williams and John Konchar, then waived Konchar to open a roster spot and unlock nearly $5 million in cap flexibility. With limited draft picks ahead, the Wolves are betting big on the young, high-upside Williams — despite his current struggles shooting from three — over the veteran Konchar, who offers consistency but less future potential. The team’s long-term vision hinges on developing Williams into a cornerstone, trusting his athleticism, defense, and untapped playmaking ability to outperform what Konchar could offer at his age.
