Summary
Citi has launched a 30% transfer bonus to newly added partner Japan Airlines Mileage Bank, plus a 25% bonus to Avianca Lifemiles, both running through October 24th — creating some exceptional award redemption opportunities for ThankYou cardholders. In a major policy shift, Citi has quietly updated bonus eligibility on its Strata card lineup, moving from a 48-month rule to what appears to be a once-per-lifetime restriction, making now a critical time to apply. Chase is making a massive $70 million bet on a 16,000-square-foot Sapphire Lounge at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, while American Airlines continues to permanently close AAdvantage accounts over credit card bonuses earned as far back as seven years ago. American Airlines also expanded Flagship Dining at DFW to business class passengers and upgraded its partnership with Taiwan's Starlux Airlines to a codeshare agreement. Rounding out today's episode: fee-free Visa gift cards at Staples through Saturday and a key change to Amex Business Platinum lounge access starting October 1st.
