Summary
The Miami Heat are eyeing undrafted guard Tre Donaldson for their final roster spot, a 22-year-old standout from the Hurricanes who averaged over 16 points and nearly 6 assists — proving he can score when it matters most. With the free agent market thin and Davion Mitchell likely to start, Donaldson’s two-way deal offers depth at point guard while giving the Heat flexibility. Already showing elite combo guard potential — including a 20-point, 10-assist Summer League game — he fits the Heat’s history of uncovering gems like Duncan Robinson and Gabe Vincent. They may hold off on promoting him until later in the season to maximize his two-way eligibility, but Donaldson’s work ethic and defensive grit make him a rising star worth watching.
