Summary
The Miami Heat just pulled off a blockbuster with Giannis Antetokounmpo, and former champ Mario Chalmers says they’re now a top-five team—maybe even title favorites if everyone stays healthy. With Giannis, Bam Adebayo, and Andrew Wiggins forming the core, plus veteran shooters and defenders around them, this roster is stacked. But Chalmers hits a snag: he’s skeptical about Davion Mitchell as the starting point guard, calling him a solid backup but not yet a true playmaker. He sees gaps in high-pressure crunch-time creation. Still, I’m bullish on Mitchell—he’s shown real growth last season, improving his decision-making and drive-and-kick game. With Giannis handling the ball and Bam bringing it up, Mitchell doesn’t need to be the sole creator. He’s got the chance to thrive in this new system—and Miami can let him prove himself over time without rushing decisions.
