Summary
Retired firefighter Reeny Shannon and her heroic rescue dog Everest spent a harrowing week at Ground Zero after 9/11, where their keen senses helped save lives amid crushing devastation. Years later, she battles asthma from the toxic dust — now known as the “World Trade Center cough” — but still dedicates herself to search and rescue with her new partner, Sully. Her story is one of resilience, purpose, and the unbreakable bond between humans and dogs in the face of tragedy.
