Summary
Johnny Marr’s legendary guitar collection—nearly 100 instruments—is hitting Christie’s auction block in London, with iconic pieces like the Smiths’ “This Charming Man” guitar (expected to sell for £80K) and a Rickenbacker he’s famously tied to. Noel Gallagher recalls borrowing guitars for Oasis, even joking about one nearly getting damaged on the floor—though it later graced the “Supersonic” video. The duo even reunited to reminisce, while Marr donates proceeds from 31 guitars to Guide Dogs for the Blind and the National Autistic Society. With bids ranging from £1K to £150K, this is a collector’s dream—and a rock history auction you won’t want to miss.
