Summary
This reflection explores the spiritual significance of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph, focusing on their roles in God’s plan of salvation. I emphasize Mary’s Immaculate Conception, explaining that she was preserved from original sin through the anticipated merits of Jesus Christ. The reflection then turns to the Gospel narrative, highlighting St. Joseph’s righteousness and protective character when he discovered that Mary was pregnant through the Holy Spirit. By choosing to divorce her quietly rather than expose her to shame, Joseph showed prudence, compassion, and virtue before an angel revealed his mission in a dream. The homily also encourages a deeper devotion to angels and reminds listeners to seek God’s purpose in their daily lives. Ultimately, this commentary invites listeners to honor Mary and Joseph by imitating their faith, obedience, and openness to God’s calling.
