Summary
This year’s Vernon County Fair is taking big steps toward inclusion with a brand-new “Inclusion Day” on Sunday, September 20th, from noon to one PM — rides will run without music or flashing lights to create a calmer, more accessible experience for guests with sensory sensitivities. The idea came from a special education teacher who teamed up with fair organizers to make it happen, aiming to ensure everyone can enjoy the fair — no matter their needs. Plans also include quiet spaces, sensory-friendly seating, and even a future sensory-friendly showmanship event. It’s a powerful first step toward making the fair truly welcoming for all.
