Summary
Wisconsin’s universities are seeing steady enrollment growth, hitting over 163,000 students—up three years in a row—with UW-Madison leading the pack at more than 50,000. Interim president Renée Wachter credits the system’s focus on affordability, job-ready programs, and streamlined admissions for maintaining strong demand. Preliminary numbers are nearly on par with last year’s final count of 164,992, and nearly 90% of UW grads stay in Wisconsin—fueling the state’s future.
