Summary
Two alarming incidents rocked Sun Prairie Schools this week, prompting police intervention. On Wednesday night, officers responded to a fight at Royal Oaks Elementary — and soon after, two students alerted them to another teen allegedly hiding a gun. Turns out it was a water gun, found at the student’s home with parental consent; he received a citation for disorderly conduct. The next day, police beefed up patrols after investigating a student linked to a suspicious message — no weapons were found, but charges remain possible. Both cases highlight how crucial it is for students and staff to speak up when something feels off — because quick reporting can prevent escalation and keep everyone safe.
