Summary
Scammers are impersonating Dane County Sheriff’s Office employees, calling families of jailed loved ones and demanding bail money — a dangerous scam that’s already hit 12 victims in two weeks. They’re using real names and public phone directories to sound legit, even trying to swindle over $10K in one case. Sheriff Kalvin Barrett warns: the office will NEVER ask for payments over the phone. All bail and fines must go through the Dane County Clerk of Courts. If you get such a call, don’t pay — verify with official channels. Stay vigilant. Listen in comfort: Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
