Summary
Joel Coyne, a standout business teacher from Sun Prairie East High in Wisconsin, is shining on the national stage after being named one of 43 educators to receive the prestigious Travelers Award for Teaching Excellence from the NEA Foundation. Already Wisconsin’s nominee for National Teacher of the Year, Coyne is celebrated for his classroom excellence, leadership, and unwavering commitment to student success. The award includes a gala in D.C. and, for five honorees, a $10,000 Horace Mann Award plus a documentary. But the ultimate honor? The NEA Member Benefits Award — $25,000 and the highest recognition in public education. With colleagues praising his passion and dedication, Coyne’s story is a powerful reminder that exceptional educators are being seen, celebrated, and rewarded on a national level.
