Summary
West Nile virus has hit Lubbock County — the first confirmed human case of 2026. Public health officials are on high alert, tracking mosquito pools and urging residents to take action: wear long sleeves, use EPA-approved repellent, keep screens intact, stay indoors at dawn/dusk, and dump standing water. While most infections cause mild symptoms, older adults and immunocompromised individuals face serious risks like meningitis or even death. Report mosquito hotspots via mylubbock.us/vector-control. Stay vigilant as warmer weather brings more bites. Listen in comfort: Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
