Summary
After 23 years at the helm, Roxzine Stinson is stepping down as Lubbock County’s Elections Administrator — a bittersweet exit she calls a blessing. She helped pioneer vote centers in Texas in 2006, revolutionizing ballot access across the state, and weathered sweeping changes from paper ballots to electronic systems. Her enduring message? Show up and vote. With volunteer shortages mounting, she’s confident in her successor, retired Marine Troy Havard, who’s ready to keep things running smoothly ahead of Saturday’s city council runoff. Stinson, already eyeing a return to polling booths in a year and a half, says it’s her team she’ll miss most — and she’s bracing for a tough farewell.
