Summary
Lubbock County’s new elections chief, Troy Havard, brings 28 years of Marine Corps discipline to his role, viewing election work as a sacred duty. He’s preparing for pivotal November elections and the even busier 2026, with special elections and redistricting looming. Havard insists election rules are strict — like military protocol — and while state guidelines set some parameters, local decisions rest with the Commissioner’s Court. He plans to keep his predecessor’s efficient systems intact, but is exploring tweaks like adjusting early voting hours to cut costs and ease volunteer strain — changes not coming before November. Lubbock may also renumber precincts for clarity without altering voter districts. On national mail-in debates, Havard says Texas is already well-prepared, and recent rulings won’t shake things much — so voters should mail ballots early to avoid delays. His ultimate mission? Get more people to the polls — because every vote is your voice. Listen in comfort: Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
