Summary
Texas Tech’s football stadium just got a cosmic upgrade—now called Galaxy Stadium, thanks to a $75 million, 15-year deal with AI and data center giant Galaxy Digital. Since 2022, Galaxy has quietly been building its West Texas footprint, including a massive “Helios” data center in Dickens County, while also investing in local communities by restoring historic landmarks, donating tech gear, and funding economic development. Despite early concerns over water and power, Galaxy promises sustainable practices like rainwater harvesting and strict noise/lighting rules. With over $7 billion in projected investments by 2028, the company aims to be a good neighbor—and even cheer on the Red Raiders—while helping revitalize infrastructure and attract talent to the region.
