Summary
A woman in Inglewood, Shiloh Luckey, faces federal charges for allegedly defrauding investors of over $13 million—using the cash to buy a Tesla, a mansion, and a Caribbean wedding. Arrested in Florida while trying to catch a cruise, she’s now on bond and set to return to court in LA. The indictment includes 15 counts: securities, wire, bank fraud, and money laundering. She founded ComplYant App in 2019, promising tax help for small businesses—but prosecutors say she faked revenue and customer numbers to lure investments. She also falsely claimed CPA credentials. Instead of funding her company, she allegedly funded her lavish lifestyle, even using a check-kiting scheme to buy her home with new investor funds. If convicted on all counts, she could face decades in prison—a stark warning about deception and the risks investors face when chasing shiny promises.
