Summary
Michael Hawkins Jr. has reportedly won West Virginia’s starting quarterback job—and the battle for QB1 is officially over! Today, we break down why Hawkins defeated Scotty Fox Jr., how his dynamic rushing ability could unlock Rich Rodriguez’s offense and what his pairing with star running back Cam Cook could mean for the Mountaineers. We also examine WVU’s projected offensive and defensive depth charts, including Rick Trickett’s rebuilt offensive line, the increased size at cornerback and the potential breakout players who could become household names in the Big 12. Could Kevin Brown emerge immediately at left tackle? Is Bubba Grayson ready to become one of the conference’s best offensive linemen? Can Cam Torbor, Harper Holloman, Andrew Powdrell, Chams Diagne and Matt Sieg transform the WVU defense? Michael Hawkins may be the headline—but West Virginia could have future stars developing all over this roster. The quarterback battle is over. The Michael Hawkins era has begun. Now it’s time to discover just how dangerous this WVU team can become. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
