Summary
Mike Hawkins Jr. just delivered the type of performance that makes an entire country take notice. After torching Virginia with his arm and legs, the WVU quarterback earned PFF’s No. 1 overall quarterback grade in college football for Week 3. Now the comparisons to Mountaineer legend Pat White are becoming impossible to ignore. Seventeen years after Rich Rodriguez last coached White at West Virginia, does he have another transformational dual-threat quarterback capable of returning WVU to national prominence? We compare Hawkins and White, break down Hawkins’ spectacular performance against Virginia and discuss what his emergence could mean for the future of Mountaineer football. Is Mike Hawkins the next Pat White—or is he preparing to create a completely different WVU legacy of his own? Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
