Summary
Jayden Higgins is OUT for the season with a torn ACL — and the Houston Texans have a BIG problem at wide receiver. Higgins was becoming one of C.J. Stroud’s most trusted weapons, especially in the red zone, and Houston is now losing a big-bodied playmaker they believed was ready to take a major leap. Now? Hutch is your WR2. Tank Dell and Jaylin Noel come with major uncertainty. Sixth-round pick Lewis Bond has made some noise, and Jared Wayne is still in the mix. THAT'S NOT ENOUGH. If you're the Houston Texans, it's time to stop playing around and swing for the fences. On today's Locked On Texans, we break down: 🚨 Jayden Higgins' torn ACL and what it means for Houston Why Higgins may have been the Texans' best red-zone weapon What C.J. Stroud losing Higgins means for the offense Why Houston MUST add significant talent at WR Kayshon Boutte, Jerry Jeudy, Jordan Addison and Marvin Harrison as potential trade targets Why Marvin Harrison and C.J. Stroud already having a connection makes that situation especially intriguing The growing pressure on Tank Dell and Jaylin Noel Why Lewis Bond's emergence isn't enough to solve this problem And whether we should expect C.J. Stroud to play in the Texans' preseason finale Stroud has already watched injuries take away key pieces in recent seasons. Tank Dell and Stefon Diggs in 2024. Joe Mixon in 2025. Now Jayden Higgins. At some point, you have to wonder what this feels like for your franchise quarterback. Houston is trying to win NOW. And if anyone thinks this Texans WR room doesn't need another player with significant talent, they're lying to themselves. It's time to make the call. It's time to make the trade.
