Summary
The Philadelphia Phillies get big swings from Brandon Marsh, Bryson Stott and Alec Bohm as well as a record from Zack Wheeler in 6-4 win over Milwaukee Brewers! Brandon Marsh opened the scoring in the 2nd with a two-run homer to right field when he got a (1-2) sinker on the inner half of the plate and launched it 390-feet. Alec Bohm followed in the third with an RBI double to give the Phillies a 3-0 lead. Zack Wheeler started his outing by setting a new Phillies’ record with seven consecutive strikeouts to start the ballgame. Unfortunately, the Brewers caught up with Wheeler in the 4th inning when they recorded two hits and a William Contreras sac fly RBI. Then in the 6th, Contreras struck again, this time with a game-tying two-run single to left Wheeler’s line closed at 5.2 innings pitched allowing three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out 11 and throwing 101 pitches. The game was tied at three in the 8th inning, when Luis Arraez and Alec Bohm record back-to-back two out singles. Then Bryson Stott stepped up and shot a liner to center field, Arraez scored easily, while Alec Bohm rounded 2nd heading for 3rd. The throw in from George Mitchell glanced off Bohm's foot allowing Bohm to score, giving the Phillies a 5-3 lead! Marsh added another RBI on a double.
