Summary
The Philadelphia Phillies fell to the New York Mets, 6-1 to lose two-of-three in their series. Alan Rangel started for the Phillies and recorded two quick outs in the first inning then got into trouble. He lost an 11-pitch battle against Bo Bichette to put a man on then threw a fastball inside to Francisco Lindor who turned on it and belted it 420 feet to the second deck in right for a two-run homer and a 2-0 Mets lead. Then in the 2nd inning, Rangel allowed another three runs on a double by Luis Torrens, a single by Lindor and a sac fly by Carson Benge. Rangel’s day was done after four innings, allowing five runs on seven hits, three walks and one hit batsman. The lone Phillies' run came on a solo homer by Alec Bohm in the 7th inning, his 12th home run of the season. Bryce Harper went 0-for-4 with three strike outs. As a team, the Phillies struck out 14 times, 10 came courtesy of Mets' starter Nolan McLean who tossed six-scoreless on the afternoon.
