Summary
The Philadelphia Phillies lost to the Washington Nationals, 6-3 on a night where the Phils didn’t have much go their way. The Phillies jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning on an RBI single by Alec Bohm. Unfortunately, the Nationals answered with two runs of their own in the bottom of the inning. In the 3rd, the Phillies evened things up at two with an RBI double by Luis Arraez, then grabbed their second lead of the game on Kyle Schwarber’s 45th homer of the season, a solo shot in the 5th that gave the Phillies a 3-2 lead. That lead was ALSO short lived as Andres Chaparro took Sanchez deep in the bottom of the 5th to tie the score at three. Jonathon Bowlan came in for Sanchez in the 7th with two on and one out and on his VERY FIRST PITCH allowed a three-run homer to Daylen Lile that proved to be the difference in the game.
