Summary
The Philadelphia Phillies fell to the New York Mets, 6-2 thanks to the bats going cold and rough a rough defensive effort. The Phillies took a 2-0 lead in the 3rd inning thanks to Bryce Harper’s two-run homer in the 3rd. Harper’s 19th homer of the season. In the 6th inning, however, the Mets bats woke up. Juan Soto and Bo Bichette hit back-to-back one-out singles, then came around to score on Francisco Lindor’s two-run triple that tied the game at two. Then A.J. Ewing followed in the inning with a two-run single up the middle that gave the Mets a 4-2 advantage. The Mets plated two more in the 7th on an RBI triple by Juan Soto that shot between Justin Craford and Gabriel Rincones Jr in right center field the Bo Bichette brought Soto home from third on a sac fly to left for the Mets’ final run of the game.
