Summary
Steven Willis joined Locked On SEC to preview the only game between two ranked teams this weekend — and named the right tackle nobody in that press room asked about. Two days to kickoff. No. 9 Ole Miss vs No. 24 Louisville at Nissan Stadium, Sunday night on ABC. ⏱️ CHAPTERS 0:00 [FILL FROM CASTMAGIC AFTER RECORDING] 📌 THREE THINGS 1. The right tackle. Tommy Kinsler is likely to take the first rep, with a real caveat attached — he's around 350 pounds and Ole Miss plays fast, so Carius Curne needs to be ready and a platoon is live. Terez Davis locked down left tackle in the spring, and the staff has been effusive about him. He's the son of Ricky Davis, who had roughly a decade in the NBA. 2. The honest question about the defense. Everything out of Oxford says this is the best linebacker room Pete Golding has had, with Keaton Thomas possibly wearing the green dot and Luke Fiorelli in the role TJ Dottery played a year ago. Golding has said Thomas might be the best linebacker he's ever coached — which is either a real signal or a coach being hyperbolic, and we find out Sunday. 3. Three ways Louisville wins. The edges against two brand-new tackles. Isaac Brown's phone-booth quickness in a first game where nobody has tackled live in weeks. And the one people are missing — Lincoln Kienholz's legs. He ran for 1,400 yards as a high school senior in South Dakota, and containing a dual-threat quarterback has historically been the hardest thing for a Golding defense. Plus why Johntay Cook could be this offense's Elijah Moore, why the crowd will be closer to 50-50 than people assume, and a final score. 🎙️ Thanks to Locked On SEC. 🦈 EVERYDAYER CLUB — Locked On Ole Miss ad-free, plus members-only Discord. 7-day free trial: https://lockedonolemiss.supercast.com 🌐 THE OLE MISS HUB — htt…
