Summary
The Chicago Bears made a big leap forward in 2025, going to the playoffs after winning the NFC North, but some think Chicago is primed for a fall back down to earth and in a competitive division, that could spell a missed postseason. Likewise, the Philadelphia Eagles have high expectations and if things don't go according to plan we could see a big-time blow up with a lot of changing parts. Back in the NFC North, the Green Bay Packers are also hoping for better things this season, but with Micah Parsons out for half the season likely and Matt LaFleur losing some ground in the locker room, it's not impossible to see the Packers miss out on the playoffs. The Detroit Lions are also careening towards a second year of no playoffs. In the AFC, the Jacksonville Jaguars had a bounce back year, but that always creates the potential for regression. Especially after an offseason of perceived hubris from the front office. The Kansas City Chiefs could be getting Patrick Mahomes back sooner than they expected, but even with Mahomes last season, the Chiefs weren't a confirmed postseason entry. Penning them in this year would be a mistake too.
