Summary
We now know what's happening -- Mark Walter, who barely had time to get a new nameplate made for his office at the facility in El Segundo, has sold the Lakers to venture capitalist Josh Kushner and former Disney head Bob Iger for $12.5 billion. Then why, and why now, is certainly a point of intrigue, but may not be the most important thing for Lakers fans, at least as far as the future of the team is concerned. Who are the new guys? Where will they get the money? Are more investors coming? What kind of management style will Kushner and Iger bring? What about the agreement Walter had with Jeanie Buss? Does that go out the window? What's the future of Rob Pelinka? And what happens to the integration process that had been moving along with some velocity between the Lakers and Dodgers? Does all of that stop? Does any of it get unwound? And what happens while things are being figured out? Sooooooooo many questions. Plus, fare ye well, Russell Westbrook. HOFer and an LA legend. HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: More on the sale of the Lakers. SEGMENT 2: Why now? What's next? SEGMENT 3: Optimistic? Pessimistic? Plus, Westbrook retires.
