Summary
The Portal host Brian Smith is joined by Locked On Irish host Tyler Wojciak to break down the biggest questions surrounding Notre Dame football after Week 1. First, they discuss the season-ending injury to 2027 quarterback commit Champ Monds and what it could mean for the future of the Notre Dame quarterback room, including whether the Irish could pursue a transfer quarterback if CJ Carr enters the NFL Draft after the season. Then, Brian and Tyler examine Notre Dame’s offensive performance against Wisconsin, how improved offensive line play allowed the Irish to become more aggressive in the second half, and whether concerns about Notre Dame’s playmakers could matter in the College Football Playoff. Finally, they look ahead to the coming weeks and identify what Notre Dame needs to accomplish before its matchup with BYU, including getting the wide receivers more involved and creating meaningful opportunities for defensive reserves.
