Summary
A man with a violent history, Paul Fry, got 21 months in prison for brutally assaulting his girlfriend twice—once dragging her by the hair and another time chasing her after punching her. His crimes left her traumatized, with nightmares and fear of her own home. Though he admitted guilt, his defense blamed addiction and personal tragedies, claiming he’s turned his life around while incarcerated. The judge recognized his past behavior but also his potential for change, issuing a five-year restraining order and emphasizing that domestic violence scars victims deeply. Fry now says he feels “brilliant” thanks to treatment—and his lawyers hope this is the start of a real comeback.
