Summary
Paul Curtis just unveiled a 525-foot-long mural in Bootle, one of the longest of its kind in the country, painted to transform a neglected school path into a vibrant, nature-inspired walkway. Inspired directly by students from Thomas Gray and All Saints primary schools, the artwork—described as painting a “ribbon” across the landscape—reflects the kids’ own ideas, turning graffiti-covered sidewalks into a colorful, inviting route that encourages walking and biking. The project, backed by Sefton Council and the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, not only beautifies the neighborhood but also empowers youth voices, earning their enthusiastic approval. It’s a powerful example of how public art can spark community pride, promote healthy habits, and turn everyday spaces into meaningful, uplifting experiences.
