Summary
A 52-year-old grandfather, James Barber, faced court after police found horrific child abuse images on his phone—including material involving children as young as six. He pleaded guilty to three counts of making and possessing extreme pornographic content. Though he claimed he only saw the images accidentally and denied attraction to children, evidence showed explicit chats about rape and pedophilia. His defense blamed substance abuse, which he says he’s now treating. The judge called the acts “vile” and “repellent,” noting they fuel child exploitation. Instead of jail, Barber received a three-year community order: nine months in rehab, 25 days of activities, 120 hours of unpaid work, and a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order requiring police registration. Breach could lead to immediate prison time. Listen in comfort: Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
