Summary
In week three of his latest sermon series, Pastor Daniel Strosnider draws from Luke 13:10-17 — the story of Jesus healing a woman bent double for 18 years on the Sabbath — to declare that the priority of mercy has never changed, and that King Jesus is still in the business of reaching the marginalized, freeing the bound, and shaming the enemy. With striking insight, Pastor Daniel points out that the real miracle wasn't just the woman's physical healing, but that an entire religious community had become so accustomed to ignoring her condition that no one had prayed for her in 18 years — a sobering indictment against familiarity & religion without compassion. From Ephesians 2:4-6 and the cross of Calvary, he paints a breathtaking portrait of a Jesus who is fully acquainted with being bent double — from Gethsemane to the scourging post to the cross — and who, in lifting Himself up, lifted every burden of sin & death with Him so that we could stand upright.
