Summary
Just three years ago, Anna Maria Gilbert — better known as Footpegs — had never ridden a motorcycle. Eight months after getting into riding she was already discovering the world of off-road, and now she's preparing for her biggest challenge yet: a multi-day rally raid across Morocco. And she's doing it while living with Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS) and hypermobility. In this episode of the JUSTRIDE Podcast, Anna joins us alongside Adam to talk about her rapid journey into motorcycling, discovering adventure riding, learning to ride off-road and why she seems incapable of saying no to a challenge. But there's a much bigger reason behind her upcoming Morocco adventure. After spending years knowing something wasn't quite right and eventually receiving her PoTS diagnosis, Anna is using the rally to raise money and awareness for PoTS UK — helping support others who may still be fighting to be heard or searching for answers. Anna is refreshingly realistic about the challenge. Five consecutive days of riding across demanding terrain will push her physically, and she openly admits she doesn't know whether her body will allow her to reach the finish.
