Summary

Hello! Today I’m joined by Courtney Ugle. Courtney is a proud Ballardong/Wardandi Noongar woman, the founder of Waangkiny, a passionate advocate in the domestic violence space, and a seriously talented football player. In this conversation, Courtney shares the experiences that have shaped who she is today. She speaks about losing her dad when she was just 11, and later losing her mum to domestic violence when she was 19, and the grief, love and resilience that have followed her through those chapters of her life. We also talk about the strength she’s built along the way, the importance of community, stories about her relationship with her partner, the footy sock ritual she just can’t shake, and the work she’s doing today to help drive meaningful change. If you'd like to support Courtney, head to Waangkiny website or follow Waangkiny on Instagram. This conversation touches on themes of family and domestic violence, so please listen with care.
