As the oldest child and natural protector, he followed this parents' example into medicine, excelling through school and mentorship under a doctor who embodied everything he aspired to be—compassionate, socially aware, and respected. But two decades in corporate medicine took its toll. The calling became a grind. Personal struggles compounded by the loss of a spouse left John unmotivated and lost.
