Summary
What does Jesus have to do with issues like settling disputes or sexual expression? According to Paul, Jesus has everything to do with such issues because Jesus is Lord of all and our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Again, like adolescents, the Corinthians were very focused on their own rights while remaining largely unaware of their responsibility to love and serve. Freedom can be used to please and protect one's self, but mature believers can use their freedom to serve God, to serve their sisters and brothers in the faith, and to serve a world that needs the hope of Jesus Christ.
