Summary

A reporter emailed Sheriff Chris Nanos about discrepancies in his official work history. The man leading the search for Nancy Guthrie wrote back one line, and it was not an answer. Tony Brueski lays out every contradiction the Pima County Sheriff's Department and the FBI have put on the record in the Nancy Guthrie case, and the picture they form is not a mystery. It is a collapse. Two public statements released forty-five minutes apart, the FBI saying local authorities are the lead and the Sheriff's Department saying ask the FBI. NewsNation reports both agencies have, at times, denied being the lead at all. A retired FBI agent's read is that both are positioning to avoid the blame. The FBI Director claiming his agents were locked out for four days, contradicted by an agent standing at a Tucson press conference on the third of February and by Patel's own on-camera words the same day. The plane he wanted credit for. The doorbell footage he wanted credit for. The glove found two miles from her house, sent to Florida, shipped back to Arizona, re-tested, and only then run against the national database. No hit. It belonged to a restaurant worker with no connection to any of it. The unknown DNA from inside her home came back a partial profile. Not enough to run. Nancy Guthrie is still missing, and nobody has been charged.
