Summary
Gunsmoke presents “Line Trouble,” episode 429 of the classic CBS Radio series, originally broadcast June 26, 1960. William Conrad stars as Marshal Matt Dillon in this Marian Clark script, produced and directed by Norman Macdonnell. Reports of a cut telegraph line west of Dodge send Dillon and Chester into a tense dispute involving Army soldiers and Small Hawk, a Kiowa man who fears the new wire is dangerous medicine. As the frontier’s newest technology reaches the territory, Dillon works to prevent misunderstanding from becoming something worse. Gunsmoke presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
