Summary
Sci-Fi Subgenres: Planetary science fiction, weird science, social dystopia A Surveyor walks ahead of a mobile city that must remain inside a narrow region of survivable gravity moving across an apparently endless plain. He discovers that the region is not natural: the city’s own mass engine creates it while crushing the landscape behind and distorting time for communities left outside.
