Martin Luther (1483-1546 AD) is a real-life example of someone who, in the face of major religious persecution and denominational division, chose to make the Word of God the final authority in his life. He was willing to forgo all he previously thought was the truth in order to put his faith in the Scriptures that disproved what he had always thought was true. And because of that, God was able to reveal to him foundational revelation for the entire Body of Christ that had been lost since the Book of Acts.
