The market lost ground on Friday after big artificial intelligence-related stocks saw sharp declines on Wall Street overnight, but financial stocks helped stabilize (穩定) the main board. Analysts says that decline came as many investors rushed to (趕往、衝向) pocket recent gains built in the electronics sector in the wake of the U-S losses. VP encourages tourists to visit Palau during 1st ally trip Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim is urging more Taiwan tourists to visit Palau. She made the call after snorkeling with Palau's President Surangel Whipps during her first visit to the diplomatic ally as vice president. Hsiao arrived in Palau on Saturday on a direct flight from Taiwan. She joined Whipps on a boat trip Sunday morning to Big Drop Off, a renowned snorkeling and diving site in the southern part of Palau's Rock Islands. According to Hsiao, after working hard in their daily lives, people in Taiwan deserve to arrange an island getaway to relax and recharge, and Palau is a convenient (方便的) choice because it is close to Taiwan and served by direct flights. Taiwan's Japan rep. attends Tokyo Pride and highlights equality Taiwan's representative to Japan, Lee Yi-yang has attended the Tokyo Pride Parade. Lee was invited to speak on the event's main stage by Britain's ambassador to Japan, Julia Longbottom. He was only official representative from an Asian country to do so.
