Summary
In response to the question, “how many times shall I forgive someone who has sinned against me,” Jesus reveals that true forgiveness isn’t about keeping count, but about defaulting to grace. In the parable of the unforgiving servant Jesus exposes the hypocrisy of receiving mercy without extending it. Those who have been forgiven should offer forgiveness to others freely and without limits. The math of God’s mercy, then, is not addition or subtraction – it is multiplication without limits.
