Summary
Due South speaks with former U.S. Senator Richard Burr. Burr spent 28 years in Congress – serving first in the U.S. House, before ascending to the upper chamber. Once there, he chaired the Senate Intelligence Committee, was a reliably conservative vote, and across three terms generally avoided controversy. In one of his final acts in office, he voted to convict President Donald Trump of incitement of insurrection - one of just seven Republicans to do so. Today, Burr is working at the Aspen Institute, with an aim toward improving education, as part of a bipartisan effort. Burr joins Jeff Tiberii to discuss his political career and much more.
