Summary
Did you know that the first marriage in the Bible between Adam and Eve is a type and a shadow of the marriage relationship we, the Church, have today with Jesus? In Ephesians 5:32, Paul declares that the marriage covenant is "a great mystery" that ultimately points to Christ and His Church. In episode 13 of "Jesus - Our Hero Husband", Duane Sheriff explores how the first marriage in Genesis was a prophetic picture of our covenant relationship with Jesus. Just as God brought Eve out of Adam's side and united her back to him as one flesh, God has brought His Church out of Christ through His sacrifice on the cross.
