Summary
How much of your life are you really deciding, and how much has already been decided for you? In this episode of Deciding to Soar: Living Life Your Own Way , I explore three powerful forces that influence how we believe, who we believe we're allowed to be, and how we believe we're supposed to live: religion, roles, and rules. None of these are inherently harmful. Religion can ground us. Roles can help organize our lives. Rules can provide necessary structure, safety, and protection. But when we stop examining them, they can quietly become authorities in our lives and keep us confined to beliefs, identities, and expectations we may no longer consciously choose. Together, we'll explore three important questions: Who or what gave this authority over my life? Do I still consent to that authority? What is my unquestioned consent costing me? This is an invitation to examine what you've inherited, keep what continues to nourish and support you, renegotiate what needs more room, and release what no longer allows you to live fully and authentically. Listen, reflect, and then ask yourself: Knowing what I know now, what do I choose?
