In Santa Fe, New Mexico, the first-degree murder trial of Isaac Apodaca, 30, is underway in the 2022 sword killing of 21-year-old Grace Jennings; prosecutors say Apodaca never held the weapon but spent months manipulating his girlfriend, Kiara McCulley — who pleaded guilty and is testifying — into the killing by convincing her she was part of a vigilante group. Apodaca has pleaded not guilty and says he was the one manipulated.
