Summary
Commander Kael has exactly 13 days until his mandatory retirement and total memory wipe. Aboard the USSS Grissom - an aging nuclear submarine patrolling deep space - his final mission turns deadly when a Syndicate warship begins drilling into a forbidden asteroid. Their actions threaten to awaken a dormant biological Sentry and summon an unstoppable cosmic terror.Outgunned and unable to fire their engines, Kael executes a suicidal tactical maneuver: the Dead Man’s Slide. Cutting their anti-mass drive, the Grissom falls silently through the void as an 8,000-ton tomb. If this desperate ambush succeeds, the sector survives - but Kael will wake up with absolutely no memory of the monsters he fought in the dark.
