Summary

Applications are now open for the 2026 National Age Friendly Recognition and Achievement Awards, with a closing date of Friday, 5 June. Coordinated by Age Friendly Ireland, the awards honour organisations, community groups, businesses, agencies and individuals who are helping to create safer, more supportive environments for older people. Now in their tenth year, the initiative highlights innovative projects that improve the lives of older people and can be shared and replicated across communities in Clare and throughout Ireland. To find out more, Derrick Lynch spoke with Mike Hanrahan, member of Stockton's Wing and Clare Age Friendly Ambassador.
