Summary

Good Morning Motormouth Crew and welcome back to the Saturday Morning Drive Q&A for Mother's Day weekend! We had some fantastic questions this week covering transmission maintenance myths, worn suspension components, and the all-too common "your car is getting old" conversation many vehicle owners hear far too often. Arthur asks the big one-did waiting too long for transmission service ruin his transmission after hearing "maintenance free" advice? We break down why so many manufacturers and talking heads stopped pushing maintenance years ago and why keeping up with fluid services still matters if you want longevity out of your vehicle. Marg wants to know when shocks should actually be replaced and whether they're truly "good for life." We walk through visual; inspections, leaking shocks, worn bushings, excessive suspension travel, weak springs, and how ride height measurements help determine if a suspension system is sagging and needs attention. Sandra brings a powerful question after being told by a mechanic that her car is " Getting Old" and she should think abut replacing it we discus why every vehicle deserves a proper structural. and mechanical evaluation before anyone starts talking replacement. If the structure is solid, many older vehicles are well worth repairing and maintaining instead of taking on massive monthly payments. A vehicle getting older does not automatically mean it's finished. Proper maintenance, honest evaluations, and staying ahead of wear and tear items is what keeps good vehicles on the road. And with it being Mother's Day weekend-thank you to all the Moms out there. If it wasn't for Mom, none of us would be here turning wrenches, driving cars, or enjoying this community together.❤️ 👉 If you enjoy the content here-not just on this channel…
