Summary
Gefet- Gemara, Perushim, and Tosafot, an in-depth Iyun gemara shiur. Our sugya raises the possibility — a possibility that seems implausible to several Amoraim — that it might be easier to be a Jew than to be a Gentile. Might there be some behaviors permitted to a Jew that would be forbidden if she were a Gentile? Through the Tosafot on our sugya, we’ll explore this question and the theological issues it raises: is the particular covenant between the Jewish people and God a supplement to or a replacement of God’s initial covenant with all of humanity?Gefet Ep 219 Chullin 33 Gefet with Rabbanit Yael Shimoni and Shalhevet Schwartz is in collaboration with Yeshivat Drisha.
